Architecture Course 2026–27

As a former colleague of Imre Makovecz, and an architect whose thinking is likewise shaped by anthroposophy, I believe in shared workshop practice: a way to get to know the universal elements of Architecture more deeply and to experience its true sources. Everyone can draw, or can learn to draw. In design work the free hand is one of the architect's essential tools — if the hand is not free, neither is the soul, nor the thinking. One has to make friends with the white sheet of paper, because it is like a vast underwater world. On the surface, in the plane of the paper, you cannot see what lives there; but look a little deeper and an immense world emerges. It is a process.

We will grow more at home with drawing tools, and through them learn to set things down on paper. We will meet many built works of architecture, and come to know, discuss and debate what lies within them and what they say to us today. We will look outward to the world, and inward as well, toward the realm of the soul. We will also visit buildings in and around Budapest, so that we do not merely see them in photographs but gain our own experience of a building's outer and inner spaces.

I invite you into inner and outer landscapes where elements build into one another — landscapes with continuity, direction and spirit. This course is for those looking for new paths in Architecture, who are open, and who wish to experience more deeply the connections between the natural world around them and their own inner world.
